This traditional stone cottage has been fully modernised and sits in an enviable rural spot on a hillside with sweeping countryside views. Surrounded by an impressive range of attractions, from beaches to forests, historic houses to whisky distilleries, there’s definitely something for everyone here. The house is wonderfully secluded, 100 acres of lush green grounds that blend seamlessly into the neighbouring fields.
Drop bags and coats in the hallway and send the kids upstairs to explore while you put the kettle on in the spacious kitchen/diner. Leave unpacking until later and sit back at the dining table for six with sunshine flooding in through the large window. You’ll be pleased to see a separate utility room to store wet or sandy gear, and a full oven with electric hob, as well as a dishwasher and microwave. Along the hall, a single bedroom and shower room are perfect for a teenager or extra guests, and the cosy sitting room has a wood burner for chilly evenings, plus plenty of comfy sofa space, a TV with DVD – and room enough to spread out a board game too.
Upstairs, the children will have settled into their twin bedroom in the eaves, and there’s a double room as well, with fantastic views across the valley to Ben Rinnes. Families and those who enjoy a soak after a day on their feet, will be happy to see the bath with shower above in the upstairs family bathroom.
Outside, the semi-enclosed garden has a BBQ and garden furniture ready for summer dinners alfresco, and ample parking.
