About This Property
The Rabbit Run is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
This charming property sits in the Herefordshire hamlet of Kinnersley. It’s perfect for walkers, with routes from the doorstep and easy access to the Black Mountains, Elan Valley and Shropshire Hills. The literary haven of Hay-on-Wye is just 11 miles away, while Hereford, well worth visiting thanks to its cathedral, Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, is only 14 miles away. If you enjoy exploring National Trust sites, you’re well served when you stay here; the beautiful Weir Garden (9 miles) is a treat any time of year, while Croft Castle (18 miles) is a fascinating historic manor house with gardens and acres of parkland to stroll around. Not forgetting the neo-classical mansion of Berrington Hall (18.5 miles), with its Capability Brown-designed walled garden and pleasure grounds. A variety of festivals run throughout the year such as The Three Choirs, Ludlow Food Festival and Bishop's Castle Party in the Park.
This impressive holiday retreat has tiled floor and exposed natural wood, offering warmth throughout. To the right of the hall you will find the lounge, an inviting room beautifully styled with rich colours and fabrics complemented by cleverly chosen antique pieces. On a chilly evening you can light the wood burner and relax with friends listening to music or watching a movie on the Smart TV. The kitchen/diner is just off the hallway, a perfect space for entertaining, with bespoke hand painted cabinets offering a splash of colour against the colourful tiling. A large table seating eight guests enjoys centre stage with views out of the French doors onto the gardens. The ground floor is also home to a shower room. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms: a king-size finished with beautiful linens and throws, and boasting an en-suite bathroom, plus a king-size with en-suite shower room. Built by local contractors using local materials, this property's eco credentials include air source heating, a wastewater system designed to be filtered into the local water supply, and the electricity is supplied by a company that generates the majority of its power from wind and solar power. In the bathroom, you will find 100% recycled toilet paper from 'Who Gives A Crap'. Around the garden, a wildflower meadow has been sown, with over 150 different species of flowers and grass that support a myriad of insects, small animals and birds. All of this combined supports the owner of The Rabbit Run with their aim of reducing their carbon footprint and supporting the environment.
Step outside to enjoy the views towards the Black Mountains from the wild meadow garden with herbs, trees, shrubs and flowers with a lawned area. Deckchairs are provided to sit around the fire pit. You can cook up a feast on the BBQ and on the deck are comfortable chairs which surround a low coffee table. There is a shepherd’s hut on site which can be booked at an additional cost, should you want to invite one or two extra guests. Please contact us for further information. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
