Fordson Cottage is a lovely, traditional cottage located in the quiet village of Warenford, just a short drive from Bamburgh beach, castle and village. The cottage is a perfect base from which to explore Northumberland. Within the village, you will find a great pub/restaurant so you don’t have to go far to enjoy a delicious meal out. From Warenford, there is easy access to some of the most exciting, beautiful and interesting attractions in Northumberland. A ten minute drive north east will bring you to the stunning Budle Bay, where you can walk to Bamburgh on a circular route. Bamburgh itself is a great day out and can be reached by car from Warenford in just 12 minutes! Not only does it boast a spectacular castle which welcomes many visitors, it is also home to various cafes, gift shops and a delicatessen offering tasty freshly made sandwiches. A visit to the RNLI Grace Darling Museum really is a must; here you can learn about Grace’s heroic rescue of shipwrecked sailors on the Farne Islands. Head south out of Bamburgh for about 3 miles and you will come to the bustling village of Seahouses. Here you can join the many tourists enjoying boat trips across to the Farne Islands to see various rare birds and also a large colony of Grey Seals! Beadnell village, which is just under two miles from Seahouses, is also a great place to visit, namely for its horse shoe shaped bay which offers visitors the chance to try water sports, of course you can just relax on the beach too if you are looking for something more relaxing. Another very popular destination for visitors to the area is Alnwick, situated slightly inland, it has an impressive castle which draws in visitors from around the world. Famed for its appearance in Harry Potter, fans can take part in broomstick training exactly where Harry took his first lesson. For those interested in the history of the castle, a visit to the State Rooms is a must. The Alnwick Garden is also a fantastic place to visit, with a huge cascade waterfall, mesmerising water features and a beautiful Rose Garden. Staying at Fordson Cottage offers a fantastic base to explore all of the above and more. Set over one level (two steps up into the entrance & two steps up in the hallway) this cosy and comfortable cottage sleeps up to 6 guests and is ideal for groups of friends and families. There are two double rooms (one with an en-suite shower room) and a twin bedroom, so everyone can spread out and relax. The living area has two leather sofas which are set in front of a flame effect fire and there is a TV for your entertainment, all you need for a relaxing evening. The kitchen has a dining table for 6 and is a lovely space for enjoying breakfast or evening meals. Outside there is a small, enclosed garden with seating, perfect for summer nights and outdoor dining. Please note, that for larger groups, this cottage can be booked alongside other similar cottages.
