Accomodation Description

Set just half a mile south from Coniston Village on the west side of Coniston water, this period cottage is perfectly placed to either relax or explore the local landscape with its lake, mountains, forest and fell.

The cottage is located down a quiet single track road just outside the village of Coniston. The village provides a range of amenities such as a choice of eateries and pubs, as well as several shops and a boating centre from where guests can participate in a range of watersports including canoeing, sailing, and stand up paddleboarding. For those who want to enjoy a more idyllic view of the lake, there are a number of leisurely boat trips available, not least the trips offered by the beautifully restored Victorian steamer. The village is also known for its rich history and the interesting Ruskin Museum takes visitors on a journey through the village s past, telling the stories of three well known local figures: polymath John Ruskin, author Arthur Ransome, and sportsman Donald Campbell. A short single track lane track leads you to the period property which dates back to 1850. Parking can be found at the rear of the cottage and several stone steps lead from the road to the patio garden at the front of the cottage. From the little patio area, you step into the open plan living space featuring a lounge/kitchen/diner with a flagstone floor. The lounge area has plenty of character with exposed beams and a wonderful warming open fire. After a long day of exploring, you can sink into the sumptuous sofas and comfy armchair and sit around the roaring fire, whilst watching your favourite movie. The kitchen area is situated to the rear of the room and offers an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. After preparing your favourite meals, you can make your way over to the dining area and dine with loved ones. Stairs lead to the first floor where an understated master bedroom offers a double bed with a window seat, and a comfy chair, ideal for sitting back with a good book. The bathroom is also located on this floor and offers the best of both worlds with a corner bath, separate shower and WC. A further flight of stairs lead you to the second floor, where you can find a twin bedroom which sits in the eaves of the house. Outside, there is a small lawn to the front of the property with garden furniture provided which means you can make the most of the lazy summer evenings. There is parking for one car to the rear of the property, however there is more space for parking in a lay by just 200 yards from the cottage.

2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, separate shower enclosure, and WC. Smart TV in lounge. Open fire. Wi Fi included. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, electric and gas central heating included. 2 dogs welcome. Parking for 1 car, plus further parking 200 yards from the property. Pubs and shops less than a mile. 100 refundable security deposit payable prior to arrival.
