The stylish kitchen has a sociable and cosy dining area. The games room features a snooker table and an assortment of board games. Stone stairs lead up to three tastefully decorated, richly furnished bedrooms. Heading outside, paths lead through the beautiful, landscaped grounds where you will find a tumbling beck, a small, unfenced pond and an old beehive barn which makes a lovely spot for taking in the surrounding vistas. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring the local fells, quaint hamlets and beautiful woodlands, with the reservoir at Simpson Ground Tarn making a charming spot for a walk and a picnic (2 miles). Fell Foot is nearby, where the River Leven flows from the southern tip of Windermere (5.5 miles). Here you can take a trip on the Millerbeck Light Railway, cross the lake by ferry, take part in a range of water sports or visit the Lakeland Motor Museum. Other landmarks and attractions include Sizergh Castle (10.5 miles), Holker Hall and Gardens (6.5 miles) and Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve (5 miles).
