The property stands alone at the end of a private farm track in a delightful setting on Dartmoor.

Surrounded by its own fields and woodland, the property offers wonderful privacy and direct access to open moorland and to the beautiful wooded valley of the River Dart. The river is a short (five minutes) walk from the farmhouse. Here it is possible to kayak, swim in its famous pools, or just enjoy a riverside picnic. The farmhouse is also ideally located for walking and cycling on the moor. Other local activities include caving, gorge walking, and pony trekking. For keen bird watchers there is abundant bird life on the farm and surrounding woodlands. The Mount Batten Watersports & Activities Centre offers canoeing, paddle boarding, windsurfing & dinghy sailing in the stunning coastal setting of Plymouth Sound. The Bantham surf school is 20 miles away. The River Dart Country Park, Pennywell Farm, the Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary, the steam railway, cruises on the River Dart from Totnes, and several pretty moorland villages, all lie within easy reach. Four miles away, the historic town of Ashburton has an excellent range of independent shops, galleries and restaurants. The charming old porch and front door lead into a small lobby and thence into the main hallway. To the left lies the pretty dining room with original deep set windows and curved walls. To the right is the large comfortable sitting room with old inglenook fireplace, wood burner, TV and JVC DAB music/radio This is beautifully furnished to a high standard with antique furniture and paintings the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the moor. Beyond is a small, cosy second sitting room with TV and DVD, and doors to the courtyard. Next door, the useful laundry room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, shower room and WC and access to the back garden. The light kitchen/breakfast area with AGA, separate electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher is accessed through old pine stable doors at the top of the entrance hall. To the rear is another back door to the garden, together with a large useful pantry with additional fridge and a downstairs cloakroom and WC. Heading up the relatively steep open tread stairs and accessed from the large, light hallway are the four attractive and comfortable bedrooms.
