Set within a former dairy alongside two other properties, the barn enjoys spacious, naturally-lit rooms with easy access to outdoor spaces and wonderful countryside views beyond. The comfortable surroundings of the ground floor’s open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner make it a welcoming space throughout the year, thanks in part to its underfloor heating and French doors looking out into the garden. Open-tread stairs lead to the first floor, home to a family bathroom and three inviting bedrooms ready to welcome weary travellers at the day’s end: an en-suite king-size bedroom with country views; a twin bedroom, which can be converted to a king-size bedroom; and a single bedroom. A seating area at the front of the barn is the perfect place for a morning coffee, while the shared lawn and the shared hot tub are popular places to unwind. Westward Ho! (6 miles) is one of North Cornwall’s most popular destinations for water sports lovers, with the streets surrounding its sandy beach packed with dog-friendly pubs, cafes and independent shops. Bude (17 miles), on the River Neet (or Strat), and Appledore and Bideford (both 12 miles), on the River Torridge, are well worth a visit.
