This picture-postcard cottage sits on the eastern edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), 8 miles from the bustling town of Betws-y-Coed. The property sleeps four guests, making it a great couples’ retreat or base for a small family. As expected, the walking opportunities in the area are endless, including pretty riverside routes directly from the cottage. Nearby days out include the Italianate-style village of Portmeirion (20 miles) and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway (15 miles). The holiday home has been beautifully decorated and furnished, with neutral tones and country cottage-style accessories complementing the property’s original style. Enter the cottage directly into the kitchen/diner, which has been cleverly designed to include everything needed for a self-catering break, including a farmhouse-style dining table to seat everyone. From here, move through to the cosy lounge, featuring a beamed ceiling and warming wood burner set in the original fireplace. Relax here, watching the Smart TV/DVD or playing board games from the selection provided. Upstairs, characterful low doorways lead to two delightful double bedrooms, both with far-reaching countryside views. A stylish bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, sip a morning coffee at the bistro table on the enclosed patio, taking in your spectacular surroundings. The picturesque town of Betws-y-Coed has a distinct alpine feel, thanks to the dense forests that envelop the town. Enjoy a wander through its attractive streets, stopping to look in the boutiques and galleries, before refuelling in one of the many pubs or restaurants. The town is a hub for outdoor adventure, with multiple companies offering a whole host of adrenaline-inducing activities for you to try during your stay. If you fancy a trip to the coast, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno with its sweeping bay and sandy beaches is within touring distance, 26.5 miles away.
