Whether you like water sports, fell hiking or scenic shoreline strolls, there is plenty close by to whet everyone’s appetite. Enter this welcoming property into the lounge/diner. Settle down on the comfortable sofa in front of the warming wood burner or take a seat at the dining table and play a competitive board game. Cook up a storm in the contemporary, well-equipped kitchen which has plenty of storage and surface space. When you are ready for some rest, head upstairs to one of three characterful bedrooms. Choose from a cosy king-size bedroom with en-suite, a pretty twin or a single bedroom. Enjoy an evening tipple on the seating area outside the front of the cottage, or the picnic bench to the rear. The village has a rich history, dating back to the medieval period. Across the road is the National Trust’s Beatrix Potter Gallery, housing original drawings by the children’s author, or visit William Wordsworth’s school, The Old Grammar School. Head 2 miles to the picturesque Tarn Hows nature reserve and lakes where you can enjoy peaceful walks or challenging climbs. 1 mile south of the property is Esthwaite Water, great for fishing. Alternatively head to Lake Windermere (4 miles) where you can hire a boat, try out kayaking or take a waterside walk. The bustling town of Ambleside is 5.5 miles away with a large selection of shops, restaurants and pubs.
