Nestled in the tranquil village of Satterthwaite and surrounded by the stunning Grizedale Forest, this gem of a property is ideal for your Lake District adventure. Comfortable and welcoming with a roaring wood burner and two lounges, the cottage is perfectly suited to groups of seven. Discover a natural playground of woodland walks, shoreline strolls and exciting treks up majestic mountain ranges, then satisfy your appetite with a hearty meal in one of the many local pubs you’ll encounter on your travels. Kick off your boots and light the wood burner in the lounge/diner, reclining on the sofas to watch TV or settling down at the table for board games. The snug also has a TV if the youngsters would like to watch their favourite shows, and there is a pretty conservatory for when you simply sit back and relax with a hot drink. There’s a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials for whipping up delicious meals, plus a handy downstairs wet room. Upstairs, the generous family bathroom serves the four bedrooms – one of which is a bunk bedroom that will delight the youngest guests. Your outside space is a treat for basking in the sunshine and admiring the views. You’ll be just 1.5 miles from Grizedale Visitor Centre, an excellent starting point for woodland walks and exhilarating cycle rides, plus you can book an aerial experience at Go Ape if you are feeling brave. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are two legendary Lakeland sights within 9 miles, and no visit is complete without visiting one of the pretty villages nearby. Hawkshead boasts cobbled streets and a pleasing array of shops, eateries and local landmarks, 4.5 miles away, but Bowness-on-Windermere is not to be missed for retail therapy and delicious local fare, 14.5 miles away.
