Just a mile from both Windermere and Esthwaite Water, this light, relaxing cottage makes a lovely getaway for families and friends exploring the Lake District. Offering cosy holiday accommodation for seven guests, this beautiful, detached property is set in a tranquil location, perfect for an idyllic break. Tastefully furnished and decorated in soothing tones, the property was originally two cottages that have been thoughtfully converted, with plenty of features including exposed beams, a welcoming wood burner and a picturesque garden offering fabulous rural views. Stepping into this cheerful property, the spacious dining room has a wood burner and a dining table ideal for enjoying a family get-together. The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing a family feast and is next to a fresh, light-filled breakfast room overlooking the garden. With an original range, an open fire, bread oven, TV and plenty of books, the lounge is a great space for everyone to settle back and unwind at the end of a fantastic day out. The ground floor also features a family bathroom. There are two staircases, one at each end of the house, leading up to the first-floor bedrooms. The staircase by the lounge leads to a pretty double bedroom, a charming single and a second bathroom. The second staircase goes up to a further double and a cosy twin room. Outside, the private south-facing garden has large lawns and a patio providing a charming spot for dining alfresco. There’s also a steep-sided stream running through the garden, so children should be carefully supervised. The picturesque hamlet of Far Sawrey is close to a choice of popular landmarks and attractions including Wray Castle, Beatrix Potter’s house at Hill Top, Claife Viewing Station, the picturesque village of Hawkshead, Coniston Water and the Old Man of Coniston (all within 8 miles).
