The regional towns of Barnstaple (10 miles) and South Molton (10 miles) are nearby with popular pannier markets. In the height of Summer, a small eco campsite pops up in one of the fields and cream teas are served from the summer house. A pleasant level walk to the village includes a couple of pubs and a community shop from which to stock up on provisions. Other attractions include RHS Rosemoor Gardens (8.5 miles) or Dartington Crystal (33 miles).
