Nautical touches add interest to the stylish white-washed property. Take a step through the French doors and out into the decking to dine beneath a blue sky on a dish of scallops and white wine. The dog can scamper around the garden or on the local National Trust land, discovering new delights and trails left by countryside wildlife. The sweeping bay of Holywell and unspoilt cove of Porth Joke are both less than three miles and can be reached via a peaceful stroll across common land. Surfing is encouraged amongst the rough waves that roll in off the Atlantic although you're equally welcome to sit back on the sand or sip a coffee in the local tearoom. Excellent attractions like Newquay's aquarium, zoo and blue flag beaches are a huge draw for the area so don't miss out on this treasure-trove of experiences. For that all-important day trip the Eden Project is 27 miles away on the southern coast.
