About This Property
Oc 40121 The Trap House is a 1 bedroom dog friendly property
The property is located in the peaceful rural hamlet of Highcliffe, surrounded by rolling hills bordered by dry stone walls. The historic plague village of Eyam is just a mile away which, together with its famous past, boasts a thriving country pub, restaurant and Saxon church. There is a wide range of cuisine nearby, with country pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms in nearby villages. If you head north from the property, you’ll find the picturesque mining village of Castleton, the beginning of the popular Pennine Way and the many attractions of the Hope Valley beyond. The surrounding area is rich in stately homes, including Chatsworth House just u miles and Haddon Hall 10 miles away.
Inside the property the beamed lounge features a large window and door leading out to the patio, as well as a solid fuel stove set within a traditional gritstone fireplace. With a bookshelf stacked with interesting and useful local resources and historic information, this is the perfect place to relax in front of the cosy fire and plan the day ahead. In the adjacent kitchen, which displays cream cabinets, pretty splash back tiles and all the essentials you should need for your stay, there is also a good-sized dining table. Upstairs, the bedroom with a king size bed, has been decorated in cool, contemporary shades for a relaxing night’s sleep. An exposed beam adds character to the room, while the bright and airy en suite bathroom is the perfect place to end a busy day with a soak in the tub, there is a shower over the bath, hand basin and toilet.
If the sun is shining, there’s no better place to unwind than on the small patio area to the front of the cottage and take in the rolling views.
