Guests who are keen walkers or cyclers are ideally positioned to join the Tarka Trail, a long distance path which offers wonderful scenery as well as welcome food stops and watering holes along the way. If you fancy an afternoon at the beach, sandy Westward Ho! is just a 25 minute drive away and both Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach. Just down the road in Torrington, attractions include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, the excellent Plough Arts Centre for interesting movies, 1646 Visitor Attraction and Dartington Crystal. For those who fancy venturing a little further, pretty Clovelly is a seaside town with steep cobbled streets that lead down to a harbour and the sea. For water sports and fishing, Tamar Lakes and Kilkhampton are a short drive away.

There is also an inner hallway, which is perfect for muddy walking boots, wellies or a dog basket.
