Head to nearby Salisbury (3 miles), which offers a wealth of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, as well as the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral with its iconic spire. Sitting in its shadow is Britain’s largest cathedral close, where you can explore historic Mompesson House. Within 20 miles, discover the world-famous Stonehenge, the ancient landscapes of Cranborne Chase National Landscape, and the beautiful New Forest National Park, all ideal for walking, cycling, and wildlife spotting. In May and June, a visit to National Trust Mottisfont (11 miles) is a must, when its renowned rose garden will be in full bloom.
