Weymouth Beach is perfectly suited to traditional seaside fun, with its broad sweep of sand and sheltered waters. Cross the causeway to the Isle of Portland (5.5 miles), where rugged cliffs, hidden coves and old stone quarries create a characterful coastal landscape. At Portland Bill (8 miles), the distinctive red-and-white lighthouse stands above famously turbulent waters, with impressive views from the surrounding headland. Further adventures await at horseshoe-shaped Lulworth Cove (15 miles), while the historic market town of Dorchester (8.5 miles) combines Roman heritage with strong literary connections to Thomas Hardy.

On arrival, climb the front steps and enter a welcoming hallway, where you can leave coats and shoes before settling in. The cosy living room, located the front of the property, has a corner sofa gathered around a wood burner-effect electric fire and Smart TV. Rest tired feet and watch your favourite series in this lovely space. To the rear is a spacious, well-equipped kitchen and dining area for cooking and enjoying food together. There’s a breakfast bar for perching with your morning cereal or a glass of wine come the evening, along with a dining table for sit-down meals.
