Newton Stewart is also known as the gateway to the magnificent Galloway Forest Park, covering 300 square miles and offering a wealth of outdoor pursuits and chances to spot deer, red squirrels and red kites. Other local attractions include the Glenquicken Stone Circle, Cardoness Castle and the Cairn Holy Chambered Cairn all within 11 miles.
