The beach is just 0.5 miles away, where you can explore the rock pools or soak up the sun on the sand. Head off along the coast path and enjoy beautiful, scenic views of the Solway Coast. Kippford (4 miles) is situated on the banks of the Urr Estuary and has a selection of shops and eateries. Spend a day out at the 3,000-acre Bainloch Deer Park (3 miles) where you can take a safari-esque tour and spot the animals that reside there. History buffs will have an abundance of opportunities to uncover the area’s stories. Visit Buittle Castle (7.5 miles), Orchardton Tower (11 miles), and the remains of Threave Castle (14 miles).

Inside the cottage, there is plenty of space for socialising and relaxing with several areas to enjoy. Shake off your shoes in the hallway and find yourself in the colourful kitchen with everything you need to create culinary delights. Take your dinners through to the lounge/diner and soak up the beautiful views from the window. A roaring wood burner keeps you warm while you curl up on the comfortable sofas. Adjacent is a sunroom with further seating and large windows that make the best of the panoramic views. As the day turns to night, choose from one of three bedrooms: a double, a twin, and a bunk bedroom. A bathroom and a separate shower room complete the accommodation.

Outside, a lovely suntrap of a garden has a decked area with seating, and a lawn for the children and dogs to play. Store your bikes and water sports gear in the garage. Private parking is provided for two cars.
