A cosy hideaway for up to four guests, this tranquil retreat is surrounded by countryside and is a perfect base for couples and smaller families keen to explore Northumberland’s breathtaking scenery, thriving market towns and glorious beaches. The historic island of Lindisfarne/Holy Island is also accessible across the causeway (8 miles) with its ancient castle, fascinating heritage centre, peaceful beaches and bird-watching stations. Back on the mainland, you can head north to the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed (7.5 miles), close to the Scottish border. With plenty of great pubs, shops and restaurants, Berwick is also home to an array of beautiful beaches and historic sites. Also nearby are Bamburgh Castle, Norham Castle and Paxton House, all within 16 miles.
