The beach is exposed to incoming ocean swell, making it an excellent spot for watersports, and a surf school offers lessons in surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and kite surfing. The coast path leads in one direction toward Newquay's seven bays and in the other toward Mawgan Porth, opening up miles of dramatic clifftop walking. Surf competitions and live music festivals run throughout the year, keeping the bay lively in every season.
