Set on a quiet yard in the heart of Whitby, this is the perfect base for families, friends or couples looking to enjoy a relaxing seaside break with so much to do within just a few metres. Head into the cobbled old town to explore the shops, pubs and restaurants (the fish and chips here is excellent), and climb the 199 steps to the top of town and the famous Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Head to the harbour for crabbing or a boat trip, stride out on the coast path or into the North York Moors National Park, or pack your sunscreen for a day at one of the town’s beaches. Venture out of town and through spectacular scenery on the nostalgic North Yorkshire Moors Railway or, if you want to travel a little further, the vibrant resort of Scarborough is 20.5 miles away.


This charming property is set over four storeys. Climb a set of external steps and enter the inviting, open-plan living space (there’s a high threshold, a shallow step down), and hang coats by the door before sinking into the soft seating by the exposed-brick chimney breast. In the compact kitchen area, you’ll find everything necessary for holiday cooking, including a dishwasher to make cleaning up quick and easy. There’s also a handy washing machine. Fold out the dining table and enjoy long, sociable meals, and afterwards you can relax and watch the TV or a DVD. On the lower-ground floor, you’ll find a double bedroom and a family bathroom, which includes a shower over the bath, as well as a WC. Up cottage-style stairs, a second double bedroom is on the first floor, next to a shower room walk in shower and a WC. On the top floor, tucked under the eaves, is a sweet twin room which has exceptional views across the rooftop to the ruins of Whitby Abbey.

A permit is provided for a parking space 300 metres away, and unloading is available close to the property for convenience.
