About This Property
Oc 39901 Arthurs Cottage is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
Set in the historic village of Sydling Saint Nicholas, in the heart of the Dorset National Landscape, this chocolate-box cottage offers the perfect rural base for couples and small families planning countryside and coastal adventures together. Visit the ancient village of Cerne Abbas (2.5 miles) to spot the famous chalk figure of the Cerne Abbas Giant and uncover the Benedictine Cerne Abbey. More local history awaits in the county town of Dorchester (8 miles), alongside a good choice of places to eat and drink on the days you don’t feel like cooking. From country to coastline, the dramatic Jurassic Coast — a World Heritage Site — is only 17 miles away and perfect for long days on the beach, fossil hunting, and enjoying traditional seaside attractions. Popular coastal spots include the harbour resort of West Bay, Seatown, Burton Bradstock, Durdle Door, and Lulworth Cove (all within 23 miles).
Step off the quiet streets of the village and straight into the open-plan living space of this charming cottage. Combining a cosy lounge with a rustic dining space, this is a restful and characterful place to unwind between your days of adventure. In the lounge area, sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV, and fire up the wood burner when it’s chilly out. When it’s time to eat, head through to the well-appointed kitchen and find everything needed for cooking up Dorset feasts, which can be enjoyed at the wooden dining table inside or al fresco in the courtyard garden. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. At the end of each memorable day away, head upstairs and retire to a choice of two charming double bedrooms with period touches and decor. Please note that one of the double beds is accessed from the foot of the bed only, due to its cabin-style design.
When the sun shines, step out from the kitchen and into the courtyard garden. Enclosed by stone walls and fencing, this is the perfect spot to gather on the decking for quiet morning coffees and evening drinks. Parking is on-street outside the property, subject to availability.
