About This Property
Oc 39058 The Painters Pitch is a 3 bedroom dog friendly property
Switch off and unwind at this luxurious, safari-style retreat set outside the pretty Suffolk village of Hintlesham. Overlooking a lake and surrounded by greenery, this rustic-meets-chic retreat sleeps six guests across three bedrooms, offering the perfect outdoor base for families and groups of friends. The tent is set within acres of ancient woodland, giving you endless walks to explore from your doorstep. Alternatively, hop in the car and head to Dedham Vale (10 miles) to enjoy the scenic landscapes of Constable Country. For a day at the seaside, the coastal town of Felixstowe (18 miles) invites you to wander along its promenade, admire the stunning floral displays in the seafront gardens, and share a picnic on the sandy beach. Other family days out include Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park (7.5 miles), Alton Water (13 miles), and Snape Maltings (24 miles). There’s also an 18-hole championship golf course 300 metres away.
The rural hideaway sits alongside other tents on a family-run, boutique glamping site. A small flight of steps leads up to the decking, and beyond this is the luxurious safari tent. Inside, you’ll find a spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen, and diner awash with natural tones and textures to reflect the surrounding landscape. In one corner is a handcrafted kitchen, where you can rustle up holiday feasts using local ingredients. Enjoy the chosen chef’s work at the long dining table, alfresco out on the patio, or up at the breakfast bar if it's just a few of you. In the evenings, grab one of the vintage books and snuggle up in the armchair next to the wood burner, or select a board game to play with the whole family. The tent has three gorgeous bedrooms – a king-size, a king-size cabin bed accessed by ladder steps, and a bunk room suitable for adults or children. Serving the bedrooms and completing the tent is a beautiful family bathroom with underfloor heating, a roll-top bath, a separate shower, and a WC.
Outside the tent is a covered decked area overlooking the lake, where you’ll find a range of comfortable furniture. Beyond this is a sunny patio area with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining, as well as a charcoal BBQ and a wood‑fired hot tub. A fire pit is located just down from the tent on the grass area, giving you a cosy spot slightly set apart for evening gatherings. Enjoy walks through the shared woodland or head down to the wildlife lake to spot the resident otters and mallards. There's an on‑site honesty shop selling essentials, plus ample off‑street parking just 50 metres away.
