Head to the vibrant market town of Brecon (6.5 miles), home to the South Wales Borderers Museum and a canal basin. Hay-on-Wye (15 miles) is famed for its bookshops, arts scene and annual literary festival. Head to Crickhowell (8.5 miles), set in the Usk Valley, for independent shops, welcoming pubs and award-winning eateries. Outdoor enthusiasts will love Llangorse Lake, less than 0.5 miles walk away, the largest natural lake in South Wales, where you can enjoy water sports and wildlife spotting. Walkers will be keen to explore miles of trails from the doorstep including The Allt yr Esgair with beautiful views over Llangorse Lake and the Usk Valley, or head to Talybont (4.5 miles) for peaceful waterfalls.
