Venture 18.5 miles on a day trip to Keswick, where you can shop, dine out and explore magnificent Derwentwater from the lake itself or the footpaths around it. Cockermouth, 9.5 miles from the cottage, is home to the National Trust’s Wordsworth House and Gardens.
