About This Property
Oc 37880 Glenside is a 3 bedroom dog friendly property
Offering bright and cosy accommodation for up to five guests, this cheerful holiday cottage makes a fabulous base for walkers, hikers and nature lovers keen to explore the heart of the Lake District. This traditional Lakeland retreat enjoys a peaceful location in the idyllic village of Far Sawrey, which is home to a couple of friendly pubs and sits just half a mile from Hill Top – Beatrix Potter's former residence in Near Sawrey. A bracing but scenic walk will take you to the traditional village of Hawkshead (3 miles) near the head of Esthwaite Water. The shores of Windermere lie to the east (1 mile), with the Claife Viewing Station providing a stunning vista. Other local attractions include Wray Castle, The Old Man of Coniston, and the Lakeland Motor Museum, all within 8 miles.
This bright and airy Edwardian-era cottage via the French doors to the rear, you will find a cheerful and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The sweet and relaxing lounge space has a TV, ample seating and a wood burner, perfect for a quiet evening in. To one side, the light and cheery dining area is perfect for sharing family meals, which you can rustle up in the stylishly arranged and fully equipped kitchen. From the main lounge, double doors open into a snug and relaxing additional lounge with a roaring open fire and plush seating. The ground floor also features a useful shower room. Going upstairs, the first floor has an invigorating bathroom and three delightful bedrooms decorated in warm, relaxing tones: a pretty king-size room, a lovely twin (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) and a cosy single.
Heading outside, there's a veranda to the front of the cottage providing a quiet spot for a morning coffee. To the side, an extensive lawn stretches along to the back garden, with plenty of space for younger guests to run around. The back garden also has a lovely patio with ample outdoor furniture and further seating on the lawn, perfect for dining alfresco. Off-road parking is available for two cars. Please note there are a few steps leading up to the property.
