Alternatively, hop in the car and head 8 miles north into the Kent Downs National Landscape, or 8 miles south to explore the High Weald National Landscape. Both are vast, with incredible scenery to pursue. Nature lovers will enjoy visiting several reserves in the area, including Hothfield Heathlands, Westwell Downs, and Longbeech North, all within 9 miles, while history buffs can absorb themselves in fine British architecture at Scotney Castle and Bodiam Castle (both within 18.5 miles). Round off the day with a well-earned meal at the pub in the pretty village of Bethersden (2.5 miles).
