About This Property
Oc 36623 Springs Byre is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
Located in the pretty village of Thwaite, this characterful cottage is one of a pretty pair that backs onto meadows with views towards Kidson Hill. Get a taste of local life with a wander around the village – once home to pioneering wildlife photographers Richard and Cherry Kearton – or stroll across the fields to Muker’s pub and shops. For a longer leg-stretch, follow the Pennine Way, the James Herriot Way and the Coast to Coast walk, all of which pass close by. Swaledale and Arkengarthdale – the two most northerly Yorkshire Dales – meet at Reeth (10 miles), where there’s a wider choice of pubs and eateries, while bustling market town Hawes is less than 7 miles south – drive there via the dramatic Buttertubs Pass. Enjoy more stunning scenery at Aysgarth Falls (11.5 miles), or bring your bikes to tackle the Swale Trail, a low-level route between Reeth and Keld (2.3 miles).
Parking at the front of the property makes light work of unloading luggage; step into the tiled entrance, and there’s plenty of space to store all your outdoor gear plus direct access to a handy cloakroom. Unpack your self-catering supplies in the contemporary kitchen/diner, which houses all the essentials of home for a hassle-free stay. When you’re ready to unwind, move into the spacious lounge where a choice of soft seating is arranged before the TV, while a coal-effect electric heater adds after-dark ambience and a patio door opens directly onto the garden. When it’s time to retire for the night, head to the first floor where the double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, and a family-friendly room with both a single and a double bed sits conveniently close to a separate bathroom.
South-facing, this welcoming rural residence has parking to the front and, at the rear, shares an enclosed, lawned garden area with the neighbouring property, which is also available for booking should you wish to holiday as part of a larger party. Stone-built walls surround the hay meadows to the rear of the cottages – enjoy al fresco food and drinks as you take in the views towards Kidson Hill.
