For a memorable seaside break with friends or family, this pair of cottages is a wonderful spot to stay right at the heart of Whitby’s old town. It’s located on the bustling Church Street and surrounded by cobbled streets, independent shops, galleries and eateries, with excellent pubs and shops within 200 metres. You’ll be perfectly placed to watch boats drift past, tuck into famous Whitby fish and chips, or climb the 199 steps up to the Abbey that inspired Dracula. The beach (1 mile) is ideal for bracing walks or relaxed days by the sea. Walkers can join the coastal path nearby, and day trips into the North York Moors National Park (3 miles) reveal peaceful villages and sweeping moorland scenery. Together, the two cottages are ideal for spending quality time together, with just enough separation for a little peace and privacy when you fancy it.

The larger cottage has a practical entrance hall for coats and boots, leading into a stylish kitchen where you can rustle up tasty meals using local produce. A few steps up, the lounge/dining area has original beams, exposed stonework and a dining table positioned to make the most of the marina views – perfect for dining as a group. After dinner, you may choose to watch something on the Smart TV. Upstairs, the flexible super-king-size bedroom (which can be arranged as a twin on request) is bright and spacious, with its own Smart TV. A modern shower room sits on the half landing below. Next door, the smaller cottage creates a charming extra sleeping space for a solo guest or couple. The downstairs space consists of an intimate seating area paired with a well-equipped kitchenette for light meals, along with a shower room. A steep ladder staircase leads up to a snug mezzanine double bedroom tucked under the eaves, complete with a TV and a Velux window for stargazing.

The cottages share a small courtyard patio furnished with seating, making it easy to gather for morning coffee, fresh-air lunches sociable drinks in the fresh sea air. Parking is available via a nearby pay-and-display council car park, and scratchcards are provided for ‘W’-zoned on-street parking on a first come, first served basis, located over the swing bridge on Whitby’s West Cliff side.
