The popular market town of Ambleside is just 1.5 miles away, featuring an array of shops and eateries, plus a local art gallery and independent cinema. Explore the remains of a Roman fort on the outskirts of town, or hop on a picturesque lake cruise, which stops at Windermere, and venture out along various lakeside walks.
