About This Property
Oc 35144 Sirio Cottage is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
This cosy , thatched cottage is situated in the attractive village of Loders, providing a perfect base from which to explore both the rural inland beauty and unique coastline of West Dorset. There are numerous village pathways for circular walks - a favourite along a disused railway - winding its way to Maiden Newton. The thriving market town of Bridport is 2 miles away, where you can explore local art, culture and history - as well as the vibrant twice weekly street markets. West Bay with it’s iconic golden cliffs, is the nearest beach - only 3 miles away, with a bustling harbour where you can sit and enjoy your fish and chips. 2 miles out of Bridport you can find a quieter beach at Eype. Other local places to visit are the Subtropical Gardens and the Swannery at Abbotsbury (both 11 miles), Charmouth (10 miles) for a spot of fossil hunting, and of course Lyme Regis (13 miles) for a really good day out.
This thatched 18th century stone cottage blends harmoniously into its surroundings. You enter through a wide oak front door, via 3 steps up off the road. To the left is a sliding door taking you into a generous lounge with exposed beam, log burner set into an inglenook fireplace, smart TV and handsome furniture. This is a beautiful light filled room, warm and welcoming in the winter , yet cool on summer days. Next to the lounge is the well-equipped kitchen with a dining table which offers seating for 4 people. Upstairs, there are two spacious bedrooms. The smaller of the two bedrooms contains the king-size bed, and the larger contains the double bed, with extra space for a child's bed or cot if required. The family bathroom completes this attractive property's features. Access to the garden to the rear of the cottage is via the lounge.
The enclosed rear garden is a pretty space to relax after a long day exploring or a morning drink, enjoying the lovely views and surroundings. To the rear of the cottage, there is a sheltered, covered patio area with a table and chairs, which is a great place to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining. From here, you look down the south facing lawned garden arranged on 3 levels, with its mature trees and shrubs – a very typical cottage garden. The garden is fenced or hedged and is safe for children and dogs.
