About This Property
Oc 35092 Hideaway Retreat Lodge is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
Staying at this sleek and stylish lodge gives couples and families a relaxing base with plenty to explore in the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside. 6 miles away, the market town of Horncastle is known for its antiques, independent shops and tempting cafes. Animal lovers of all ages will enjoy a day at Wolds Wildlife Park (6 miles), where you can see everything from big cats to playful meerkats. For a touch of classic elegance, head to Woodhall Spa (12.5 miles), a charming village famous for its tree-lined streets, heritage Kinema in the Woods cinema and lovely walking routes. The historic market town of Louth (13.5 miles) also makes a great day out, with Georgian streets, food markets and access to the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds. After a day of discovery, there’s no need to travel far – a local pub half a mile away is the perfect place to refuel with a hearty meal or a drink.
Pass by your own Narnia-themed gate and lamppost, then follow a winding woodland path that builds a sense of adventure before you even reach the door. Inside, the open-plan living area feels instantly inviting, with timber-clad walls and ceilings adding warmth and character. The kitchen is well kitted out for easy holiday cooking, while the lounge area centres around a big, sink-in corner sofa and a 32-inch HDTV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Roku for film nights after days outdoors. The ground-floor master suite is generously sized, with calming woodland views to wake up to, and a sparkling shower room sits to the rear of the lodge. Above the living area, a bright mezzanine, reached by ladder, is home to two single beds – a fun, den-like spot that older children (7+) will love.
Step outside onto the large balcony, set up with plenty of seating and a BBQ for open-air meals among the trees. Tucked into a private, secluded part of the woodland, an outdoor hot bath and fire pit create a magical setting once the sun goes down. Parking for two cars keeps things simple from arrival to departure.
