About This Property
Oc 34991 Bwthyn Glan Y Dwr is a 1 bedroom dog friendly property
This gorgeous period property forms part of a traditional Welsh Chapel and offers a cosy, romantic hideaway for two guests eager to explore a secluded corner of the majestic Mid Wales countryside. The property is one of a pair of ancient cottages pre-dating the chapel built above them in 1857 and lies in a quiet spot in the Dulas Valley, on the outskirts of the village of Aberllefenni. Heading south, Corris (2.5 miles) is a historic village, home to King Arthur's Labyrinth and the Rheilffordd Corris Railway and Railway Museum. A little further south, you can visit the Museum of Modern Art in the thriving market town of Machynlleth (8 miles). Nature lovers can explore RSPB Ynys Hir (14.5 miles) and the Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve, home of the Dyfi Osprey Project (11.5 miles). For a day by the sea, the tranquil beaches of Fairbourne, Ynyslas and Aberdyfi are within 22 miles.
This delightful cottage, surrounded by idyllic views, has a cheery lounge with original slate flooring, ample seating, a characterful wood burner and a Smart TV. Heading through, the lovely kitchen/diner is full of charm, with a wooden beamed ceiling and a handsome, light-filled dining area with a traditional dining table. To one side, the beautifully arranged kitchen is fully equipped for preparing a romantic meal for two. When it's time to retire for the night, the spacious bedroom offers a lovely, comfortable king-size bed. The accommodation also features a refreshing bathroom.
The outside area offers ideal spots for you both to unwind after a great day out. A small private garden area with seating is perfect for dining alfresco, with the trickling of the nearby river as your soundtrack. A half acre of riverside garden and a raised decking area are shared with the neighbouring cottage and offer additional seating and dining options. Heading through the garden and across the river, you can explore the oak woods – a Site of Special Scientific Interest – with paths leading to a picturesque gorge with waterfalls. Private parking is available for one car, with ample space for storing bikes in the garden.
