Alternatively, take a day trip to the picturesque town of Holmfirth (8 miles), made famous as the filming location for the TV classic ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. As you’d expect, the surrounding area is awash with walking routes to explore. Nearby highlights include Merrydale Clough (1 mile) and the National Trust’s Marsden Moor (4.5 miles), and you’ll also be just 5 miles from the Peak District National Park.
