This charming and tastefully renovated period stone cottage is located in Kingsteignton and is perfectly placed for couples, small families, dog lovers, walkers and cyclists to explore the coast, Dartmoor National Park, beautiful walks and historic locations around South East Devon, including Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Totnes, Bovey Tracey, Dartmouth and Brixham. There are shops, pubs, restaurants, parks, and a 13th century church close by, and it’s just a 0.3-mile walk to Hackney Marshes nature reserve, with Newton Abbot racecourse 0.5 mile away. The historic market town of Newton Abbot is just 2 miles away, where you’ll find a wide variety of shops and amenities and a mainline railway station. For a day at the seaside, the beaches of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Dawlish are within 8 miles, while Dartmoor National Park, home to picturesque villages and wonderful hiking trails, is less than 7 miles distant. There are also numerous country parks and National Trust homes, gardens and historic buildings to visit, as well as the popular coastal steam train running from Paignton to Dartmouth, where it links with the picturesque boat trip up the River Dart to Totnes. Inside the historic cottage, original features such as oak beams and exposed stone walls highlight its character, while modern comforts are conveniently blended throughout. Step in through the porch and hang up your coat before heading to the cosy lounge, where soft seating invites you to sit back, read, play games or watch your favourite film or show on the Smart TV. The dining room offers a solid oak table and six chairs, and there are two pretty arched seating nooks built into the wall. The well equipped kitchen provides everything necessary for your stay, including a small breakfast table and chairs. The large conservatory at the rear of the cottage, overlooking the tranquil garden, is another characterful space in which to unwind. For the perfect night’s sleep, head up the quaint staircase to find two beautifully-appointed bedrooms equipped with either Hypnos king-size bed or zip ‘n link super-king option. The king-size room has its own en-suite shower room, while the flexible 6’0 x 6’6” super-king/twin room has use of the family bathroom, with its Mediterranean-style natural stone tiling. The beautifully refurbished bathroom includes a tall rain shower and other ‘mod cons’, such as heated towel rail and a heated and backlit cabinet with shaver/toothbrush charging point. A wonderful long, enclosed back garden offers a perfect spot to unwind on sunny days. Relax on the patio, with its table and seating for six, or settle at the wooden picnic table on the rear lawn, providing both peaceful surroundings and a perfect space for children to play. At the far end, a locked gate leads to a bridge over the leat (small stream) to Berry Lane, a pedestrian footpath that takes you one way to local pub and the other way to the 13th century picturesque church and mill. The property also benefits from private parking for one car, with on-street parking nearby (subject to availability).
