Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, guests can uncover hundreds of years of history at Nothe Fort (5 miles), which offers breathtaking views out towards the Isle of Portland and across Weymouth Bay. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy at the 17th-century Lulworth Castle (17.5 miles), which offers extensive parkland, woodland walks and a children’s playground to discover. Famed for its panoramic views, unique geology and crystal-clear waters, the iconic Lulworth Cove (14.5 miles) is a must-see. The light-filled sunroom that welcomes you into this retreat provides the perfect spot to sit back and relax at the end of a busy day’s adventure. Lead the way through to the spacious kitchen/diner, which enjoys a country cottage ambience, to get creative with your delicious local produce. Bursting with rustic charm, the dining room will transport you to times past, providing plenty of room for the whole party to gather and enjoy some delicious local treats. The heart of this home-away-from-home can be found in the cosy lounge; homely touches, plush soft furnishings and neutral hues set the scene for pure relaxation. You’ll also find a handy utility room on this level. Make your way upstairs to wash off a long day in the charming family bathroom before retiring to one of the three peaceful bedrooms. Choose from a master king-size room, a twin bedroom with two single beds, and a double bedroom suitable for one guest. Outside, the enclosed garden featuring a large lawn and a pretty seating area offers plenty of space for the whole party to unwind, sip evening tipples, and savour al fresco meals. Guests will also benefit from private parking for three cars.
