An impressive former barn nestled in rural north-east Lancashire, this stylish retreat offers complete immersion in the magnificent Forest of Bowland. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom holiday hideaway nestles with other exclusive properties in the undulating national landscape, with its gritstone fells, deep valleys and peat moorland, near Dunsop Bridge. Pull on your walking boots, pack a picnic into your backpack and step straight out to explore the unique countryside around you. Follow circular walks through the Dunsop Valley or the Trough of Bowland. Take the family to the Bowland Wild Boar Park, 6.5 miles away, with its park rides, indoor and outdoor play areas and wildlife trails. Head 12 miles into the vibrant market town of Clitheroe to stock up on fresh Lancashire produce, dine out in eateries serving local dishes and visit the Norman castle. Here, there are 16 acres to explore, complete with a labyrinth and playground. Pause to admire the astounding views before stepping inside this splendid barn conversion. At the heart of its beautifully designed accommodation is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can gather to relax, socialise and spend quality time together between your many excursions. Take turns at playing chef in the kitchen area, with its country cream units. Prepare delicious meals here, then call your nearest and dearest to sit down to dine with you at the table. Lay a fire in the wood burner during the colder months, and settle back onto the comfortable seating to watch the Smart TV, discuss your day or take in the fabulous views. During spring and summer stays, throw open the patio doors to the garden. When eyelids begin to droop and it is time to turn in for the day, you will find one of your bedrooms, a double, is downstairs, together with a handy family shower room. Your second bedroom, a super-king-size, with an en-suite shower room, is on the floor above. This room has zip-and-link beds that can also be made up as two singles if discussed at booking. Spill out into your peaceful outside space as often as the weather permits. Light the BBQ to cook out in the open air, then turn it into a firepit as the sun starts to set. Unwind as you take in the views over a glass of wine or amble round the wildflower garden. There is private, off-road parking for two cars.
