Just 2.5 miles away, you can discover the largest shingle beach in Europe, RSPB Dungeness Nature Reserve. This unusual area has also been described as the UK’s only desert and is home to the beautiful Derek Jarman Garden, created by the filmmaker and artist himself before his death. Action Watersports and Lydd Karting are both with 1.5 miles. Enjoy a coastal steam train ride aboard the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway – the closest station is 5 miles away in Dungeness. This region also boasts wonderful vineyards, such as Gusbourne and Woodchurch (both within 17 miles). For a sandy beach, head to dune-backed Camber Sands (6 miles).
