Head 1 mile along the coast to the Ventnor Botanic Garden, where the unique microclimate of the area means a spectacular display of plants can be cultivated. Charming Steephill Cove, about the same distance from the apartment, is an idyllic spot for swimming, paddling and rockpooling, while the National Trust’s Ventnor Downs, 2 miles away, offers verdant surroundings and scenic footpaths to those who enjoy long walks.
