Plan a day out to the magnificent Sherwood Forest, 16 miles away, to follow the leafy trails through the woods that Robin Hood and his merry men were said to frequent. Picturesque Clumber Park ,17 miles away, with its 3800 acre estate, walled gardens and lake, is also well worth a visit. Venture 20 miles to Bolsover castle with its colourful history and fountain garden. Wonder along the banks of the nearby River Trent and admire the wonderful views.
