Head down the coast path to Widemouth Bay (3.5 miles) and stop off at one of the cafes before turning back, or simply pop downstairs to the restaurant within the apartment building. Whether you’re watching the other holiday makers from the shared terrace or you’re looking over the Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club from the open-plan living area, you’re never too far from the sea here. The interiors are light and airy with contemporary furnishings and splashes of colour; the kitchen and bedrooms embrace the blue tones of the ocean. There’s no need to worry about getting muddy or sandy on your days out since there’s a shared shower downstairs and even a doggy bath and grooming area if you’ve brought your canine companion along; spend the day surfing without having to worry about removing your wetsuit at the beach. The Bude Sea Pool (1 mile) is well worth a dip to experience this tidal pool and the superb views that come with it.
