About This Property

Oc 30011 The Old Dairy Northwood Farm is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property

Settle into a relaxing holiday in the unbridled Derbyshire countryside, staying in this lovely barn conversion on a quiet country lane, just 5 miles from Ashbourne. This nearby market town is a hive of activity, filled with quaint architecture and a rich Tudor and Georgian heritage. Wander the cobbled streets, admire the listed buildings and trial the world-famous gingerbread whilst exploring this local town. Known as the ‘Gateway to Dovedale’, the town also gives way to many footpaths, riverside beauty spots, and limestone ravines that this scenic section of the Peak District offers. Explore Thorpe Cloud (7.5 miles) and the iconic stepping stones, an excellent photo opportunity for your adventure-filled getaway. Make your way further into the depths of the National Park and visit Hartington (17 miles), following the Wolfscote Dale and Biggin Dale walks to explore stunning limestone gorges and pretty dale scenery. For thrill seekers, Alton Towers is just a 4 miles trip. Or perhaps take a trip to the award winning Denstone Hall Farm Shop (3 miles), set in the picturesque village of Denstone beside the River Churnet.

Slate flooring, stable-style doors and a neutral colour scheme add to the overall appeal of this instantly welcoming, two-storey house, which sleeps three but is perfect for a romantic couples’ retreat. Enter via a small courtyard to be greeted by the open-plan living area with a lounge and kitchen in one. Comfy sofas are positioned neatly around a Smart TV in the living area, creating a cosy space to unwind as night falls. Opposite it, a kitchen is on hand with all the necessary appliances and plenty of marble countertop space for your chef to get to work. Continuing through the property, a hallway leads to a single bedroom, snug and cosy, and an invigorating wet room. Moving upstairs, find a double bedroom and an adjacent en-suite shower room tucked under the eaves. Owing to the historic nature of this cottage, there are some low beams here creating limited head height.

Moving outside, soak up that fresh country air whilst sitting in the courtyard. Furnished with outdoor seating, the courtyard offers space to sip a morning coffee or an evening drink. Stay fit throughout your stay with a trip to the gym, relax in the sauna or get to know the land around you by exploring the forests, streams and grassland on the private estate. There is parking for two cars right outside the property accessed via electric gated entrance.
