Less than 50 metres from Porthtowan’s beach, this seaside escape offers the chance to spend all day, every day, in the waves or on the sands, returning to your comfortable home-from-home when you’re ready for a relaxed evening. Ideal for a large family, it boasts its own parking space and a patio for al fresco meals. Lots of welcoming touches make this terraced house a great choice for all ages. After hours on the beach, hang your wet suits in the back garden and step into the lounge, where you can sink into the sofa and enjoy a book, a board game or a game of cards, or simply relax with a movie marathon on the Smart TV. The spacious kitchen/diner boasts everything you’ll need to whizz up family suppers, plus the convenience of a dishwasher. When you’re ready for bed, on the first floor, you’ll find two bedrooms, a double and a family room for four, sharing a bathroom. Make the most of the sunshine by taking a drink or a meal out to the large, enclosed patio, which also has a BBQ in case you feel like grilling some tasty local seafood. Famous for its excellent surfing waves, Porthtowan’s popular sandy beach is huge at low tide, and you can stroll along the coast path to St Agnes Head, 2.5 miles, looking out for dolphins, seals and basking sharks as you go. Stay on the beach and play rounders or cricket, explore rock pools or take the little ones to the play park. Whether you fancy fish and chips or Cornish ice cream, there are bars and cafes right on the beach and in town. Further afield, Newquay Zoo, the Lappa Valley Railway and the popular destination of St Ives are all within 20 miles.
