About This Property
Oc 28767 Old Irish Farmhouse is a 3 bedroom dog friendly property
After a day spent exploring County Sligo's mountains, coast, and spectacular nature reserves, return to this idyllic stone-built holiday home in Skreen. This 19th-century detached farmhouse cottage provides a characterful base for a family of five to explore the glorious landscape on foot or relax in the enclosed garden while you drink in the rolling greenery.
Make your way into your period home to find a welcoming blend of appealing character features and quirky, patterned furnishings. Spend time with your guests in the lounge, light the wood burner, or compete against them with one of the board games provided. On the ground floor, the colourful farmhouse kitchen has a long dining table, an AGA-style stove, and plenty of equipment, making meal preparation a breeze. The accommodation is arranged over two floors, with the three charming bedrooms accessed via the cottage-style stairs. You'll discover even more unique period features here. Outside is a large, enclosed garden and courtyard where four-legged friends and children can run to their heart's content while the adults fire up the BBQ for some sunny alfresco dining.
Take advantage of your gorgeous surroundings by wandering around the County Sligo mountains. With 44 mountains in the range, there are many majestic sights to choose from. There's also the Ox Mountains to explore (23 miles). Swap mountains for coastline on the secluded sandy shores of Dunmoran Strand (3.5 miles). The Aughris Coastal Walk (6 miles) boasts a 2.5-mile loop with a waymarked route and unbelievable views—perfect for all members of the family.
