About This Property
Oc 28449 Stable Cottage is a 1 bedroom dog friendly property
This attractive retreat for two boasts an elevated position in the hills above New Ross in County Wexford. Take countryside walks directly from your front door, or head to the coast to explore the wild and rugged tracks and trails of the Hook Peninsula (just over 20 miles). After a busy day, spend the evening listening to live music in one of New Ross’ friendly bars or settle in for a cosy night in front of the wood burner.
The former stable is part of a small development of farm buildings near the owner’s house. The cottage is full of character, with exposed stone walls, along with a collection of antique-style furniture and country-cottage style accessories. Enter the property into the light and bright kitchen/diner, which has everything needed to whip up delicious dinners for two to share at the dining table overlooking the garden. The living/bedroom area is open plan, with a fabulous wood-panelled ceiling and stone walls. At one end, you’ll find a cosy lounge with comfortable seating and a warming wood burner, and at the other end is a sumptuous queen-size bed. A separate bathroom completes this charming cottage. Outside, the partially enclosed garden has a patio area, where you can sip a sundowner and take in your peaceful surroundings.
New Ross (1.5 miles) is a bustling town on the banks of the River Barrow, with vibrant pubs, bars and restaurants. Enjoy walks along the pretty quayside or visit local attractions such as the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience or the John F Kennedy Arboretum. Just outside the town, you’ll also find the atmospheric ruins of Tintern Abbey and the beautiful Woodville House and Gardens. Further afield, take dramatic, cliff-top walks around the Hook Peninsula or while away a lazy afternoon on Tramore Beach (both within 25 miles).
