Set in the charming coastal village of Walberswick, this superb holiday home sleeps up to ten guests and welcomes two dogs. It is a perfect base for families or friends who want to explore the unspoiled beauty of the Suffolk coast and countryside. The welcoming cottage is quietly located on a private lane behind the pretty village green and within 300 metres of the long sand and shingle beach. Walberswick has shops, cafes and traditional pubs, and the foot ferry across the River Blyth brings you to delightful Southwold (1.5 miles). This spacious coastal retreat is beautifully furnished in a contemporary style. The airy lounge houses sumptuous sofas and a double-sided wood burner, with French doors to the garden. A long dining table and top-range culinary aids are highlights in the bright kitchen/diner, with bi-fold doors to a terrace. This floor also houses a cosy study, a bunk bedroom (for children only), a delightful double bedroom and a shower room. Upstairs, you’ll find a family bathroom, a shower room and three bedrooms: a luxurious king-size with a Juliet balcony and two doubles with sea views. Outside, the large, enclosed garden houses a patio, multiple seating, a BBQ and a hot tub. There is private parking for two cars. Southwold’s host of attractions includes a golden, sandy beach, lined with brightly painted huts and a landmark, town-centre lighthouse. Spot some of the UK’s rarest birds at RSPB Minsmere (8.5 miles), a nature reserve with idyllic walks and the chance to see other wildlife, such as otters. Children will enjoy pond dipping, den building and hunting for mini-beasts in the Wild Zone. For more family fun, head to the Maize Maze (6.5 miles), with a giant puzzle of pathways, zip wires, go-karts and more.
