Enjoy the best of all worlds at this wonderful farmhouse. With three bedrooms delivering idyllic valley views, two lounge areas – one with a wood burner – and a private hot tub, it’s a great setting for a gathering of family or friends; two pets can join in the fun too! Located on a working farm, this large, detached property sits amid a patchwork of fields and pastures. A perfect country escape, it’s spacious enough to accommodate a party of six in supreme comfort, with the country-style kitchen sure to be a hive of activity. The open-plan living/dining room allows easy movement between comfortable sofas and dinner table, with a Smart TV for home-style entertainment and a wood burner adding a warm glow to gatherings when the outdoor temperature drops. If anyone wants time away from the larger group, the separate ‘snug’ has further seating and a selection of games. A cloakroom completes the convenience of the ground-floor layout. Upstairs, there’s a fabulous family bathroom with mountain views and three bedrooms: two super-king-size – one of which has its own en-suite shower room – and a twin, all of which look out onto green pastures. You’ll feel fully away from it all when you spend time in the garden here; an enclosed area laid to gravel has a picnic table for al fresco feasts, a rattan sofa set and a swinging egg chair to relax on while the real piece de resistance is a gorgeous hot tub where you can lay back in the bubbles and bask in the sunshine or beneath a starry nightscape. There’s also a lock-up shed for bike storage. Half a mile away, the rural village of Bethlehem sits in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons; half a mile further on, slightly larger Llangadog has shops and a local pub while, in the opposite direction, handsome Llandeilo (5 miles) is home to a fantastic selection of independent stores and local eateries. Visitors can enjoy adrenaline-fuelled fun in the Brecon Beacons; for a really family-friendly day out, head to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (20 miles) where you can venture underground, explore one of the world’s largest dinosaur parks and pan for gold. The Garn-Goch monument is close by and worth a visit. Walking enthusiasts will enjoy a jaunt up the impressive Llyn Y Fan Fach, or alternatively stroll around the perimeter of the Usk Reservoir nearby. Garden enthusiasts have a choice of magnificent gardens to visit with Aberglasney, Dinefwr and the National Botanical Garden of Wales all in the vicinity.
