This traditional stone cottage offers top-quality accommodation in an idyllic spot within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It’s located in a sleepy hamlet 1 mile from Reeth, a vibrant village with outstanding views all around. Whether you’re a cyclist, a walker – or prefer absorbing the views from the car – you’re sure to be wowed by the local scenery. Built around 1775, the cottage has a true rustic charm and with space for four over its two bedrooms, is ideal for a family or two couples holidaying together. Oh, and no need to put your dogs in kennels – up to two are welcome! Renovated to a high standard, this lovely accommodation combines rustic charm with modern comforts and a colourful decor. The cheerful open-plan living area comprises a comfy lounge area and a long dining table, and there’s a wood burner to warm up the space on chilly nights. Meal prep will be a joy in the country kitchen, which has granite work surfaces, a flagstone floor and an electric range cooker that will delight keen chefs. An additional eating space here is ideal for breakfasts with a view. From the front garden, absorb wonderful vistas over Swaledale as you sip a morning coffee – or evening wine –on the bench provided. You’ll have a pub and a shop within 0.5 miles for your convenience, and there’s a bike hire shop within 200 metres so you can easily get kitted out for adrenaline-pumped adventures. Walked to the ruined Grinton Moor Smelt Mill (2 miles) to absorb some local history, or head up to Calver Hill (2.5 miles) to explore Fremington Edge, a steep limestone escarpment dominating Reeth. Keen for some town life? At Richmond (9.5 miles) you can wander through pretty streets, do some shopping and even enjoy a theatre show if the dates align.
