About This Property
Oc 16183 Pipistrelle is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
One of a group of characterful holiday retreats on a tranquil rural smallholding, this quirky and inviting property is perfect for exploring a stunning part of the Carmarthenshire countryside. Offering cosy accommodation for four guests, the imaginatively updated barn conversion dates back to the 17th century and features timber beams, wall ties, high ceilings, exposed stonework, a welcoming wood burner and underfloor heating. With fabulous rural views, this delightful hideaway also has access to more than six acres of uncultivated meadowlands, making a perfect spot for peaceful walks and picnics by the River Annell. Stabling is available by arrangement.
The property has a colourful and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a beamed ceiling and stone tiling. Light streams into the lounge, which has a wood burner and a wide selection of books to browse. There’s a lovely central country-style dining table and a traditional, fully equipped kitchen, perfect for rustling up a celebratory family meal. Upstairs, you will find two delightful bedrooms, each with exposed stone walls and wooden beams in the vaulted ceilings. There’s a cheerful twin room with a handy shower cubicle and washbasin, while the stylish double room has an en-suite bathroom area with curtained access and obscured glass tiling. Outside, there’s a patio area screened off from the adjoining property, with garden furniture and a BBQ, providing a relaxing spot to sit back and take in the serene surroundings.
Heading south, the cheerful town of Llandeilo (11.5 miles) has some great pubs and restaurants and is on the outskirts of the Dinefwr estate. Heading south-east you can explore the glorious landscapes of the Brecon Beacons (12 miles), with plenty of opportunities for mountain biking, hiking and horse riding. Also nearby are the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Aberglasney Gardens and Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir, all within 15 miles.
